Creating Buzz

Creating Buzz

Buzzing

The plastic saints were kind to me as I did make it to the interview with ABC’s Barbara Pinto for NightLine (www.abcnews.go.com/Nightline/).    It took a lot of  bees to create this buzz….  SO, Thank you to Doug Hall of PlanetEurka (www.planeteureka.org) and Tentpole’s Jon Paul Buchmeyer and Susan Martin, (www.tentpoleny.com) for the Merwyn Business Simulation Research Workshop in Chicago.  People have asked me for my sources and here  are some of them with a HUGE word of  thanks.   Thank you Mike Johnson of Immersi, (www.immersi.com) who scrambled to get the new ClipCleanys together, Brian Zaztke,  Harold Brundt, and Paul Bourget (www.lumenflow.com )who worked under the gun to get the lenses, board and LED working, and Dave Weurding of Broadview Product Development, (www.broadviewproduct.com) who cranked out these awesome prototpes and tracked down the special pigment for my glowing ClipCleany.  I know they all worked extra hard to make the prototype available.   I recommend all of these people and businesses, they went above and beyond their contracts with me so that I could go to Chicago and show my new prototypes for the first time.  They are the BEST!  Thankyou to Big Ben for the delivery and photos.  Stay tuned for my post on the Nightline Interview!

Angels and Saints, hope one is Patron Saint of Plastic

Angels and Saints, hope one is Patron Saint of Plastic

If there is a saint for plastics, I am praying to’em.  My hot new prototype is being put together piece by piece so that I can show it to ABC News.  How did I get this incredible gig?  I put my invention through the Merwyn Business Simulator through the Eureka Ranch.  If you are an inventor check this place out.  http://www.planeteureka.org/marketplace/I was encouraged to try it through The RightPlace, a government sponsored group that is trying to ramp up innovations in Michigan in order to turn the crank of manufacturing to create and or save jobs. Now fans( ok, mom), you will know that for my try-out for TLC, Kelly Ripa’s show, I made it to the 2nd round, 2 minute pitch.  My poor overworked prototype broke the night before and was held together, not lying here, gum.  They were cool about it BUT the lesson here is, YOU HAVE TO KEEP GOING, KELLY  RIPA, (or Mark Burnett) IS NOT GOING TO SAVE YOU!  I am so thankful for those unique opportunities but there are more out there.  Back at the Ranch (Eureka that is) my invention was evalutated, not my clothes, or hair,or derrier.  I had a good score, help from one of my RightPlace councelors, and a drive to see the clipcleany get to market.  Hopefully you will all tune in to ABC News July 20 and see my new baby.
