Why My Dog Needs Therapy

Ok, I put in the invisible fence and my dog’s happy carefree world has changed. He got zapped a couple of times and it was awful. He looks at me with different eyes now, why mom? Now I have dog-mom guilt, which is better than dog-got-run-over-mom guilt but…stinks. I have been doing the training with him but he won’t go near the flags, which of course, is the point. He was so nerved up about the scary change to his back yard he wouldn’t poo. I know it’s for the better and I know that this gives him oddly more freedom, but like vaccinating your kids, it’s just not fun watching the stunned look of betrayal when the needle goes in.

I can so relate to the dog-mom guilt. I get that everytime after Oscar gets clipped and for two days after he is so put off with me.

Lisa,
Now we have dog-mom guilt…I am wondering if there is dad-dog guilt.
I did not know that Dogs could be put off for 2 days! Does he just give you dirty looks or what? Oscar, please lighten up on your mom she is doing the best she can
NOTE: My son tried to take my dog for a walk and forgot he had the collar on and ZAP! Now my son feels bad and is trying to make it up to him….
